THE MISSION
Our mission is to educate the community about the work we do at the Worcester Heritage Society. We are committed to education through our Digital Photographic Museum and Educational Program, one photo, one exhibit or event at a time. There is always something new, something old and something exciting happening, and ever changing and our knowledge is always expanding as we become the bridge for multi-generational, multi-cultural and brand new, or vintage Worcesterites, from the past - to the future - IN THE PRESENT.

THE NEW ENGLAND FAIR
The New England Fair was held in Worcester at the old Agricultural Field near St Gobain (formerly Nortons) for many years. The first agricultural fairs in Worcester started at the common early 1800s, then about 1870 Agricultural Society held the fair near Elm Park until about 1900. The fair then became 'The New England Fair' and was held in the Greendale section of Worcester until the 1930's. Shown are the huge crowds who clamored to see such marvels as the floatable dingable, the horse jumpers, the parades, the performers, the balloons, the motorcyles, the agricultural displays and livestock judging contests. Shown is a 2nd place ribbon from the 1921 NE Fair.
